n8n
n8n lets you manage and run automation workflows from Sysadmin Anywhere. The integration uses n8n’s public API.
Connect n8n
Section titled “Connect n8n”- Open n8n in your browser (in the default Docker setup: http://localhost:5678) and complete the initial setup.
- In n8n, open Settings → n8n API and create an API key.
- Set these environment variables for the Sysadmin Anywhere main application:
N8N_HOST=http://n8n:5678— the n8n address reachable from the main application container. In the supplied Docker network, the service name isn8n.N8N_API_KEY=<your-api-key>— the key created in n8n.
- Restart the main application after changing its environment.
- In Sysadmin Anywhere, open Automation → Workflows and refresh the list.
The address in N8N_HOST is for communication between containers. Open n8n in your browser using the browser-accessible address, usually http://localhost:5678.
Manage workflows
Section titled “Manage workflows”The workflows page lists workflows and lets you refresh, create, and open workflow details. On a details page you can view the workflow preview and recent executions, run a workflow manually, edit it in n8n, or delete it after confirmation.
The current New and Edit actions open n8n at http://localhost:5678. If you access n8n through a different browser address, open the workflow directly in n8n instead.
For outbound events sent from Sysadmin Anywhere to an n8n workflow, see Webhooks.
